The Seward Park and Recreation Department, in an effort to provide improved city park facilities, is initiating an Adopt-a-Park sponsorship program. The purpose of the program is to upgrade and improve park playground equipment and facilities utilizing the resources of Seward's civic groups. The civic group will develop pride of ownership in "their" park project while assisting the City of Seward to provide safer and better equipped facilities with the least amount of tax money being spent.
Organization Responsibilities
- Committee from the organization meets with Park/Recreation director to develop plan
- Raises money, applies for grants, etc. to fund plan
- Schedules work days
- Spring clean-up of park
- Fall clean-up of park
- New playground equipment installation
- Painting/staining playground equipment and shelters
- Install/maintain sponsorship park signage
- Install/maintain small floral display
Park/Recreation Dept. Responsibilities
- Normal park maintenance
- Mowing/trimming
- Weed control
- Trash removal
- Snow/ice removal
- Tree/shrub care
- Playground equipment maintenance and repair
