Swimming Rules of Conduct - Guidelines for
Disciplinary Actions

Persons in the pool area or the Seward Park who are causing trouble will be dealt with as follows.

  1. Explain that the person must obey the rules or leave
    When patrons are familiar with th rules the following guidelines will be used.
    • 1st Verbal Warning -- Swimmers sit down for 5 min.
    • 2nd Verbal Warning -- Swimmers sit down for 10 min.
    • 3rd Verbal Warning -- Swimmer is kicked out for the day (Manager's approval required)
  2. If a patron continually breaks the rules, shows disrespect, etc. the manager on duty will be notified of the behavior, immediately.
  3. In a case of police involvement the ejection period will automatically be two weeks. An ejection sheet and incident report will be filled out.
  4. Parents will be notified of any ejection that occurs. the Park & Rec. director will be notified immediately, in cases that involve the police.
  5. NO refund of money will be given if the patron is ejected for not obeying the rules.

The amount of time a swimmer is not allowed to return to the pool over one day is left to the discretion of the manager. The manager has the authority to remove a swimmer from the facility for an indefinite period of time with no reimbursements.

If a patron is ejected on two separate occasions management will evaluate the situation to determine the length of time the patron will be restricted from the pool. If necessary the Park & Rec office will be contacted to help determine what action should be taken. Ejection from the pool may be for more then one season.
